Google has changed, Google doesn't care anymore for how many keywords you are using in your article or meta tags.
Google is trying to make it easy for the users by showing to them the most relevant articles to their search query in the top of the search result page, so being ranked in Google search is not a game of keywords any more but it became a game of the best valuable article.

What Google Trends Shows
When you open Google trends site you will see the latest trending searches in a specified country, you can measure the keywords popularity, you can find the stories that are trending now in a specified country, You can subscribe to track a keyword or topic popularity and receive weekly or daily updates about it.
How to Use Google Trends
1- When you open Google trends site you will see many options to choose from, there is search box in the middle, when you scroll down you will see a list of the latest stories.
2- When you scroll more you will see a list of the latest trending searches and then what was trending on Google by year.

3- In the search box write a keyword or a topic, Google Trends automatically will show a drop down list to let you choose from the whole topic or the search term. Don't forget to try both and compare the results.
4- In the result page you will see your search term/topic in a box and next to it another empty box that you can use it to compare two or more topics or search terms.
You can refine the results according your needs, choose worldwide or a specified country and you can choose a time range and a category.
Google Trends also allows you to choose between showing the result from all searches in Google website or showing the results from Google Image, News, Shopping or YouTube only.
5- The results will appear in a chart for the interest over time, you can download it as a CSV file, embed it in your website or share it on social media.
6- When you scroll down you will see a map for the chosen country with colors, this colors represents the percentage of searches.
7- Refine the results by Subregion, Metro or City.
8- Hover with mouse on any city/subregion or Metro to see detailed information.
The box on the left is to see in which location your keyword was most popular during the specified time frame. Google Trends will calculate the Values on a scale from 0 to 100, where 100 is the location with the most popularity as a fraction of total searches in that location, a value of 50 indicates a location which is half as popular. A value of 0 indicates a location where there was not enough data for this term.
The box on the right is the related queries box, You can sort by the following metrics:
Top - The most popular search queries.
Rising - Queries with the biggest increase in search frequency since the last time period.
What does Breakout mean ?
It means that this keyword is new and had few prior searches but now it had a tremendous increase.
Search for your keywords using Google Trends and Compare them, then use Google search, Google Keyword tool to find new ideas for your niche, know what your audience are searching for or to know the popularity of a brand.
